Syrup Bread
Ingredients:
16. Georgia cane syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, melted
2 tsp baking soda
1 c. boiling water
2-1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
Directions: Mix together the syrup, sugar and melted shortening. Mix soda in boiling water and add to syrup mixture. Gradually mix in the flour and spices. Bake in greased muffin pan in moderate oven (350° – 375°) for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 6-8 servings
