Grandmas Apple Cake

Ingredients:
2 c. sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp soda
1-1/2 c. pecans, chopped
3 eggs 1-1/2c. oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
36 chopped apples (peeled and cored)

Directions: Mix well sugar, eggs, vanilla & oil. Mix in salt, soda & cinnamon then flour. Fold in apples & nuts. Bake in greased & floured 13″ x 9″ pan at 350° for 1 hour. Cake should spring when touched.

Topping: 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1/2 stick butter 1/4 c. half & half. Bring ingredients to a boil for 3 min. After baking, punch holes in cake & pour sauce over cake. Allow to soak for at least 3 hours before serving.
